Responsible use & 18+ policy.

Cannabis is a gift from nature — and like anything worth enjoying, it deserves respect. This policy sets out how the collective keeps cannabis in adult hands under the Cannabis for Private Purposes Act, 2024, and how we encourage every member to enjoy it thoughtfully.

Adults only

The collective is strictly for adults aged 18 and older. We verify age at every point of contact:

  • At signup — every membership application includes identity and age verification before access is granted.
  • At the club — our hosts may ask for identification at any branch, at any time.
  • On delivery — handovers go only to the verified member, whose age is confirmed at the door before anything changes hands.

Know your limits

Start low, go slow. Effects vary widely from person to person and from cultivar to cultivar — potency, terpene profile, your own tolerance, and even the day you are having all play a role. If you are trying a new strain, begin with a small amount and wait before taking more.

Our hosts are happy to talk you through effect profiles on the members' menu — that is what the collective is for. Every member also has a monthly allocation that keeps quantities within private-use limits.

If a session ever feels like too much: stop, sit somewhere calm, drink water, and give it time.

Never drive or operate machinery

Never drive a vehicle or operate machinery while under the influence of cannabis. Impairment can outlast the feeling of being high, and driving under the influence is a criminal offence in South Africa.

Plan ahead — arrange a lift, use a ride service, or simply stay put at the lounge and enjoy the moment.

Health notice

Nothing on this website or from our hosts is medical advice. If you have questions about cannabis and your health, consult a qualified healthcare professional.

Please take particular care — and speak to a professional first — if any of the following apply to you:

  • you are pregnant or breastfeeding — cannabis use is not recommended;
  • you have a heart condition or blood-pressure concerns;
  • you have a personal or family history of mental-health conditions such as anxiety, depression, or psychosis;
  • you take medication that may interact with cannabis.

Keep away from children & pets

Store all cannabis securely at home — out of sight and out of reach of children, teenagers, and pets, ideally in a lockable container in its original labelled packaging. Never leave anything unattended in shared spaces, and dispose of leftovers safely.

If a child or pet accidentally ingests cannabis, contact a doctor, an emergency room, or the Poisons Information Helpline (0861 555 777) immediately.

Support resources

For most adults, cannabis is something they enjoy on their own terms. But if your use ever stops feeling like a choice — if it gets in the way of work, relationships, or how you feel about yourself — talk to someone. There is no judgement here, and reaching out early makes a difference.

  • SADAG — the South African Depression and Anxiety Group runs a free Substance Abuse Helpline on 0800 12 13 14 (or SMS 32312), with counsellors available to listen and refer. See sadag.org.
  • Your GP or local clinic can also refer you to confidential support services.
  • You can speak to us in confidence via the contact page — including if you would like us to pause or close your membership for a while.
