Tucked into Glenhoff Road under the trees of Newlands, minutes from the rugby and cricket grounds. Afternoon-to-late hours make it the southern suburbs’ evening club.
The room
The neighbourhood
Newlands is the collective’s evening room for the leafy heart of the southern suburbs. The club sits on Glenhoff Road under the oaks, a few minutes’ walk from the rugby and cricket grounds — which makes it the natural meeting point before and after game days — and an easy hop from Rondebosch, Claremont, Bishopscourt and the UCT side of the mountain.
Hours run afternoon-to-late on purpose: doors open at noon and collections continue until 22:00 Monday to Saturday, with a gentler Sunday. The Southern Line’s Newlands station and the Main Road bus corridor are both walkable, and quiet residential streets around Glenhoff make parking straightforward outside match days. On big fixtures, come early or message the branch WhatsApp first.

Newlands, answered.
- How close is the Newlands club to the stadiums?
- A few minutes on foot from both the rugby and cricket grounds — members meet here before and after game days. On big fixtures, parking fills early; the branch WhatsApp is the fastest way to plan a collection around a match.
- Which southern suburbs is Newlands best for?
- Newlands, Rondebosch, Claremont, Bishopscourt, Mowbray and Rosebank — anyone on the mountain side of the M5 who wants evening hours. Kenilworth, a little further south, runs daytime hours if that suits you better.
- Can I get there by train?
- Yes — Newlands station on the Southern Line and the Main Road bus corridor are both within walking distance of Glenhoff Road.
- Do I need to be a member to visit?
- Yes. Seknd Nature is a private members’ collective under the Cannabis for Private Purposes Act, 2024 — we do not sell cannabis to the public. You apply online in a few minutes, management reviews every application personally, and once approved you collect at any branch. Membership is 18+ with ID verification.
- Is this legal in South Africa?
- The collective operates on a private, non-commercial membership basis under the Cannabis for Private Purposes Act, 2024. Cannabis is cultivated, held and shared among verified adult members for private use — nothing on our site or in our branches constitutes an offer to sell cannabis to the public.
